Hacom specializes on networking hardware and software. Specifically, we offer the hardware that can run a variety of open-source networking software, such as IPCop , pfSense , and m0n0wall . We are also a Debian Gnu/Linux shop, and have been providing consulting services to build Linux embedded systems. In general, our systems are designed to run the CPU fanless and to boot up from a compact flash. The only exception is the 1u rackmount system which exists as mostly fanned one and few fanless for certain specially requested configurations. The footprint ranges from very small as in the OpenBrick-E case (about 6 lbs) to the Lex Twister case (about 11 lbs). Normally, the heat dissipation capacity required to maintain a fanless environment of a specific case determines the highest performance of a CPU class. Our systems are currently based on the AMD Geode , VIA C7 , and Intel Celeron-M/Pentium-M . We are expecting to add Intel core2duo systems within the next couple of months. Some of these systems have either the regular 10/100Mbps Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet . Some also have a mini-PCI slot for wireless expansion. We are supporting open-source software on our systems. Many software images of the popular firewall/gateway systems, such as IPCop , pfSense , and m0n0wall customized to run on Hacom's hardware are available as free-download . We preload these on our systems and offer them as network appliances . Also, we are planning to offer complete pfSense solution packages: hardware, software and support bundles, within the next two months.
